Thanks guys.

I made an animated displacement map for the grid.

The Glow effect was achieved in a 2 pass render (2 render passes in a single render job). I'm still working out the bugs for multipass fisheye renders, but this one didn't turn out too bad, eh?

OH VERY COOL!! So as a "blender toddler" I am interested in how you made the grid. I assume you could warp it below the star using proportional editing set to smooth fall of right? I am interested to learn more

Beautiful! Simply beautiful.

How did you do the gravitational warping of the grid? My first thought would be to try using cloth sim for the grid, but that would take awhile to bake, wouldn't it?

Also, was the whole thing rendered at the same time, or were the objects and grid rendered separately and then composited?
