I am the director of the Peter F. Hurst Planetarium for Jackson Public Schools in Jackson, Michigan. I have many interests in life but I have found that since 1993 when I became a planetarian that I found my true calling. I really enjoy having the opportunity to see the "light bulb" turn on, have a network of friends from all around the country, create visuals and models to help people understand the sky and "control" my universe. I wouldn't trade what I do for any other profession.
Yeah, but it wasn't without it's hiccups. After a month, it's starting to feel like home though. Unfortunately, I had to sell my soul to Home Depot and Lowes.
