Farscape is another one of those greats you just don't see much anymore. One of my favorites was the tribute to Loony Tunes. Dargo is a great coyote. I was happy that they got to end the story with "The Peace Keeper Wars".

Just joining the group here, but Sci-fi was one of the influences for me being where I am now. I both read, and watched Sci-fi then. Star Trek and 2001 are the ones that stand out, but I watched all classics and "B" movies. I loved the various Irwin…

Did Science Fiction initially inspire you to study or teach astronomy? Share your story! There is obviously a distinction between science and science fiction but why not share your favorite novels and TV/cinema experiences?

About Me:
I have been interested in astronomy, and planetariums since the age of nine. I love planetariums, and have been working in the field one way or another for 32 years. I love science in general, but I'm also a techie. I love playing with computers, computer software, and electronic stuff. I guess what makes me more geeky is that I am also a big science fiction fan. I also study holistic modalities, and cultural philosophies, especially Native American.

OMG Darryl! Your photos of the old Muse just triggered a whole bunch of memories. Any photos of the old "bridge chairs" at the Muse that had holes in the shape of stars in them? Haven't been back to our old neck of the woods since I drove a school bus in that area back in 1979. My other favorite spot in that area was the Tower Isles Jamaican Beef Patty Factory. I would stop there every day. My mom and dad bring me boxes of them whenever they come up. Thanks for posting those photos.

I almost requested your friendship but thought I would start slow - hah. Hope things are well there. Any renovation news? And you are not the only geek who loves SF, the good stuff.

Hope you can be here for SEPA next June 16 through 20, 2009. It's gonna be out of this world.

Hi Darryl,
Thanks for the message! I'm glad you enjoyed my astronomy. The producer of the video put in in youtube under "M.C. Rae"! Lately, I've really gotten into producing video and doing videoediting. For example, I just made a music video about a lab my students did that involved finding extrasolar planets. If you go to my school principal's blog, you can see it.http://burlingtonhigh.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html.

Darryl.

Nice to hear from you. I'm only three hours down the road. The door is always open.
