The Ghana Planetarium was officially opened as the first public planetarium in West Africa and the first digital planetarium in all of sub-Saharan Africa on January 22, 2009.

This is wonderful news. Congratulations to all who worked so hard to bring a planetarium to the people of Ghana. Many hands and minds, across the globe, worked together to accomplish a project that benefits all world citizens through spreading excellent science education. People helping people, that's what it is all about! Keep up the good work. For those of you not involved, consider volunteering to live and work in Ghana. I gaurantee it will be a life altering experience to work with these passionate people.
