Teaching People to Dream

Reading the Planetarian last night I started thinking about how many planetariums I have actually visited. I know many on this group have probably spent some time in hundreds. I'm nowhere near that number but after a little searching through my memory and with a little help from the Loch Ness compendium, I think I've worked at or visited 23. That doesn't seem like too good number to me so during the International Year while I'm visiting various areas with Galileo, I'm going to try to expand the list.

If you're at all interested where I've been, here's the list in no particular order:

Charles Hayden Planetarium, Boston
Natick High School Planetarium, Natick, MA
Blake Planetarium, Plymouth, MA
Brockton HS Planetarium, Brockton, MA
Alden Planetarium, Worcester, MA
Hayden Planetarium, NYC
Einstein Planetarium, Washington, DC
Davis Planetarium, Baltimore, MD
Peoria Planetarium, IL
Casper Planetarium, WY
Wallace Planetarium, Fitchburg, MA
Sky Connection, Dedham, MA
Seymour Planetarium, Springfield, MA
Novins Planetarium, Toms River, NJ
Goddard Planetarium, Rosewll, NM
Vanderbilt Planetarium, Centerport, NY
Andrus Planetarium, Yonkers, NY
Shafran Planetarium, Cleveland, OH
Buhl Planetarium, Pittsburgh, PA
Roper Mountain Planetarium, Greenville, SC
Northern Stars Planetarium, Fairfield, ME (though I saw it down in Kennsington, MD)
and I believe the original Starlab which the folks at Learning Tech brought it to the Boston Museum of Science.
I think there may be a couple of other portables, that I can't place, but that's what I've seen so far.

Has anyone else ever figured out just how many domes you've visited/worked?

I work for Civico Planetario "Ulrico Hopeli" in Milan, Italy, and also used a Gambato star projector with a 6 m dome. I visited the Orlando Science Center Planetarium (Orlando, FL) and Miami Museum of Science & Planetarium (Miami, FL).

You've hit two continents, that's great. I hope to get back to Italy in the not too distant future (I went to Florence last year while my daughter was doing her junior semester abroad, but I didn't get to a planetarium while I was there). If I can get to Milan, I'll drop in.
